Ashley Lopez

Life Science Coordinator, Innovation Works

Ashley serves as the Life Science Coordinator at Innovation Works (IW). She works primarily with the Life Science team curating programming & seeking out new Life Science companies throughout SWPA. She’s also involved in creating weekly newsletters for the Portfolio Companies, programming for Cafe IW & sector peer groups as well as managing the Diversity/Inclusion Intern program.

You can usually find her listening to new product decks/pitches from budding entrepreneurs or working hand in hand with portfolio and cohort companies. When she’s not directly working with companies, she’s working for them behind the scenes. Ashley manages a weekly email full of new events, conferences, and other pertinent information that some of our CEO’s may take advantage of. She also plays matchmaker connecting startups to office spaces through our partnership with Alloy26.

Prior to joining IW, Ashley worked in the healthcare field at two major insurance companies in the region. She managed high volume caseloads in accordance with ERISA guidelines, analyze financial reports, and administer benefit policies for short/long term disability.

When Ashley is not at work, she’s regularly participating in social events, fundraisers & volunteering with various organizations around the city. Some of which include: Zeta Phi Beta, Sorority Incorporated, Be A Middle School Mentor & Everybody Wins! A native of Pittsburgh, Ashley is passionate about making tech in SWPA a more equitable space for women & minority entrepreneurs.

Ashley earned an MBA in International Business from Point Park University & a BA from Edinboro University of PA.
