Dr. Glenn Updike
Medical Director of Clinical Informatics, UPMC
Dr. Updike is a board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist and an expert in Clinical Informatics and Telehealth applications for the delivery of healthcare during pregnancy and the postpartum period. He is board-certified in Clinical Informatics by the American Board of Preventive Medicine and have developed an interest in the field of patient engagement.
Since 2012, Dr. Updike has served as the Medical Director of the UPMC Health Plan's patient engagement portal (MyUPMC). In that role, he has implemented a number of clinical programs related to transparency of health care information for patients. He has also worked extensively in the field of telemedicine, especially as it relates to "direct to home" video visits. In this capacity, Dr. Updike is a member of the leadership group for Patient Care Delivery Innovation and Technology at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital and has worked to optimize the inpatient and ambulatory medical record and serves as one of the four leads of the clinical innovation team in women's health with a special emphasis on population health, telemedicine, and patient experience.
